ACCESS

Those coming from Boston and other northern regions should drive along Route 93 to Route 3 South. From there follow the Sagamore Bridge where Route 3 becomes Route 6 (also known as the Mid-Cape Highway). Drivers should then take exit #6 on to Route 132. Those arriving from Springfield, Massachusetts and other western points can use the Massachusetts Turnpike, Route 90 East all the way to exit #11A and then take Route 495 South. Travel over the Bourne Bridge to Route 6 East along the Cape Cod Canal and follow to exit #6 and then Route 132. From New York, Connecticut and other southern regions, motorists may use I-95 to Providence, Rhode Island and then take exit #20 to Route 195 East. Travel all the way to Route 25 South and use exit #22 to pass over the Bourne Bridge, take Route 6 East and then use exit #6 to Route 132.

Arriving by motorcoach, such as Greyhound, which serves many North American destinations, is another convenient option. For those who prefer air travel, Cape Air offers direct service to the local airport, Barnstable Municipal, from Boston, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.

Route 132, also known as Iyannough Road, is a popular place for visitors to stay due to its proximity to the Barnstable Municipal Airport. The strip also features two much visited shopping areas, the Cape Cod Mall and Capetown Plaza. Route 132 is the ideal place to stay for those driving to town for a quick trip, since it is the major roadway leading into Hyannis. There are also several dining options along this stretch of road.

Lodging choices are available for those looking to stay on Main Street, Route 132/Iyannough Road or on other nearby streets. The Cape Cod Inn has been serving the Hyannis area for more than 50 years and caters to visitors on a budget. This family friendly Main Street hotel offers cribs and rollaway beds, as well as other amenities such as connecting rooms, air conditioning, a heated pool, game room and Internet access. Other Main Street alternatives featuring standard amenities include the Hyannis Inn Motel and the Cape Winds Resort.

Conveniently located between Cape Cod Bay and Nantucket Sound, the Holiday Inn on Route 132/Iyannough Road has 196 guest rooms with many offering breathtaking views of Hyannis' natural beauty.
